Ultrasound Guided Amniocentesis And Urinal Membrane Puncture

- Nov 16, 2018 -

Membrane puncture can be used to obtain fetal water for pregnancy studies. The special purpose of membrane puncture includes: correlation study of fetal biochemical changes in various periods, determination of fetal sex by cytological analysis, and acquisition of embryonic cells.

During the puncture, the pregnant uterus is pressed against the catheter needle through the rectum. The catheter needle is mounted on the handheld ultrasound probe and inserted into the membrane through the vagina. However, fetal death can result from violent manipulation and bacterial infection, which greatly limits the application of this technology. However, this technique still has its attractive application prospects because it can overcome its drawbacks by improving the catheter.
